MEDILINK-GLOBAL proudly facilitated a Familiarization Tour (FAM Tour) for a group of specially selected representatives from the People’s Republic of China recently.
This FAM Tour was jointly coordinated and organized by Medilink-Global Malaysia, Medilink-Global China, the Malaysian Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC), established in 2009, the primary agency in charge of promoting and developing the Healthcare Travel industry in Malaysia and Association of Private Hospital Malaysia (APHM).
The FAM Tour was held from the 29th of September, 2010 to the 03rd of October, 2010 covering hospital visitations, sightseeing, golfing, shopping and networking meetings in the states of Selangor, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur and Melaka.
The specially invited delegates, led by the President of Medilink-Global China, Ms Sa Ren, arrived from both Beijing and Shanghai respectively at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Upon arrival, these delegates were warmly welcomed by representatives from both the MHTC and MEDILINK-GLOBAL Malaysia.
Among others, the delegates from the People’s Republic of China comprised of representatives from the insurance industry, namely, China Re, Ping An Annuity, Ping An Health, Generali-China; the China’s Health Administration Department, Kaifeng City’s Human Resources and Social Security Institute, Kaifeng City’s Bureau of Education and The Ming Education Group Limited; the media group - CCTV, Beijing Dragon IPTV International Media Limited – the China Golf Network Television, Liaoning Radio & Television and China Mobile Communications Corporation Henan Limited.
The main objective of this FAM Tour was to give an insight to Malaysian Healthcare, presenting our healthcare facilities, expertise and state-of-the-art medical technology, which could be provided at an affordable cost without compromising the quality of care, patient safety and the healthcare standard. The FAM tour was also intended to demonstrate the readiness of Malaysia's Healthcare Providers in providing healthcare services to the Chinese. The Chinese delegates were exposed to nine (9) premier private hospitals during the FAM Tour. Delegates were also introduced to some of Malaysia's popular and exciting tourist destinations and attractions.
During their visit to these 9 hospitals, the delegates were furnished with the latest updates pertaining to the state-of-the-art medical facilities and healthcare services offered. Some of these delegates experienced for themselves the convenience, the language proficiency, the friendliness and the efficiency of the Malaysian staffs in welcoming Chinese patients.
Medilink-Global China, which has an in depth knowledge of the Chinese market, would pursue the Malaysia Health Tourism opportunity by entering into strategic collaborations with the private hospitals in Malaysia to tap this significantly growing market.
